Heads That Float In The Air!

Atheists will tell you that when you die, there is nothing. You are nothing. And to all intents and purposes, you never were anything. Christians will tell you a very different narrative.

But physicists. Now that is a story to die by.

Energy cannot be created or destroyed, but it can be transformed from one form to another.

Indeed it can.

Of course, they wouldn’t tell you this at school. It’s hardly a great story for manipulating the masses. Too much freedom and the whole mechanism of order crumbles. And no one wants that.

But once a year, all eyes can see. Take a meander through the south transept of Westminster Abbey on the 25th of October. At one past midnight.

Like stars, they are always there, but only on this day is the truth revealed.

Look upward to the vaulted arches.

Heads. Weightless and free, glowing with the translucent firefly energy of the creator; illuminating the crevices, flooding the light of wisdom over the lucky few. And if you are particulayly fortunate, then you may hear these immortal words,

‘Life is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.’

The bard, as cynical as ever.

It is not this way for all energy, of course. Like many religions, there are caveats. Certain criterion. In life, as in death, the healers will spread their energy into the vast earth, vibrating harmony through sodden mud. The villains.. Come on - where do you think lightning comes from?
