Mum Rant Edition

Mum rant -

Driving home after a full day- you would think it would be quiet. Soccer at 8 am with orange slices, bucket hats and odd socks. Hours of cheering and holding drink bottles and multiple toilet runs and nose wipes-followed by last minute shopping all day, happy meals and spilt drinks- no one napped at all. I’m driving home and -

they. are. all. so. loud. 😳

They have so much to say, every single one of them talking and 2 yr old daughter starts to sing the Barney song at the top of her high pitch lungs but she only knows 3 lines so she just goes round and round whilst clapping.

“I love you, {clap clap} you love me, we’re a happy family, {clap clap} I love you, {clap clap} you love me, we’re a happy family, {clap clap} I love you, {clap clap} you love me, we’re a happy family, {clap clap} “😳

(Is the song stuck in your head now? Now you know how I feel… )

My son screams from the back of the car “MUM -EVERYONE IS TALKING OVER ME AND I CANT HEAR MYSELF THINK!” He is 5 and talking like that!

All the noise and words and sounds and screams coming out of them and I can barely muster a word I’m so out of energy!

There was at least 7 different topics going at once and they seem to follow it all so fluently yet I can’t ask one of them to do more than one thing at once most days!

All of a sudden in unison using their telepathic powers all 4 of them start singing the months of the year song whilst the 2 year old continues to sing the Barney song.

“Tember, October/I love you, {clap clap }, November, December, these are the months of the year/ we’re a happy family {clap clap}I love you, {clap clap} you love me, we’re a happy family, {clap clap} /January, February” - 🤯

I did try to teach her a few more lines to the song over all the noise. She very proudly showed me how well she had listened.

😳“ I love you, you love me, we’re a happy familyyyy- {clap clap clap} I love you, you love me, we’re a happy familyyyy!”

Over and over again they sing September as Tember and I had the audacity to tell them it was wrong and try to correct them, and all of a sudden every month had the sound sep in front of it! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

“SepJanuary, SepFebruary, {giggles}/I love you!” {clap clap}

Wait, too many giggles so they decided to start again…

“SepJanuary, SepFebruary, SepMarch, sepApril-“

“I love you, you love me, we’re a happy familyyyy- {clap clap clap} I love you, you love me, we’re a happy familyyyy”

“SepMay, SepJune, SepJuly” {giggles}

“I love you, you love me, we’re a happy familyyyy- {clap clap clap} I love you, you love me, we’re a happy familyyyy”

“SepAugust, September, sepOctober, sepNovember” {giggle giggle clap}

“SepDecember we’re a happy family!”{clap clap}

🤦🏼‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤣🙄🙄🙄

How can they go all day and then not fall asleep in the car?!

I have a theory- the more children in the same car the more energy they have, it’s like the Power Rangers, combining their energies and becoming one big giant robot that can trample tall buildings in a single bound. Don’t ask me why I know that.... 🙄

I finally get home and they all pile out of the car, and would you believe it -they all land in the kids room and put on Power Rangers. Not a peep out of any of them...
