Leila, a single mother of two small boys and now a newborn girl, embodies the spirit of Longmu, the Chinese goddess known as the Mother of Dragons. Her journey, a modern-day triumph echoing the strength and resilience of days gone by, becomes a tribute to the ancient myth.

As we celebrate International Women's Day in the Year of the Dragon 2024, Leila's story takes on new depth—a tale that intertwines with the legendary Longmu. In the myth, Longmu nurtured and raised dragon eggs, fostering their growth into strong, confident and powerful beings. Similarly, Leila, in the heart of a struggling community, nurtures her three children, instilling in them the strength to face the tough world around them through her principles of honesty, trust and hard work.

Leila's daily life, mixes parenting, and community engagement, with a lack of income and support that mirrors the multitasking prowess often associated with the dragon. With a spirit inside her much like that of Longmu, she pushes to suppress her depression and isolation to provide everything needed that keep her children healthy and strong. Leila is determined to not let her children suffer in the way she suffered at the hands of abusive parents she will not allow them to walk in her old shoes. Her journey, a tribute to the ancient goddess, becomes a reminder that strength can be found in the most challenging circumstances. Just as Longmu nurtured dragons into powerful beings, Leila nurtures her children.
