Christmas Memory

A letter to my dear parents in heaven

Christmas Letter to My dear Parents in Heaven (Esperanza)

As the air grew colder and the scent of pine filled the streets, I found myself reflecting on the bittersweet memories of my parents, who had passed away before Christmas. And three years have gone since my parents died. The memory of them continues to amaze me.

We all have the memories of our loved ones we have lost. Something remarkable or funny everyone still talks about, as we said, “Remember the time we used to….”

My parents were the embodiment of love and warmth. Every year, we transform our home into a magical wonderland during the holiday season.

The memories of my mom's Christmas preparations keep replaying in my head, and it feels real. She paces back and forth in the kitchen, getting the cookies ready; her voice echoing through the house, calling us to lend a hand.

The aroma of freshly baked cookies wafted through the air, and the sound of laughter echoed as we decorated the Christmas tree together.

However, life took an unexpected turn, and my parents left this world too soon. Their absence left a void in my heart, especially during the most enchanting time of the year. But I decided to honor their memory by sharing the beautiful stories of Christmases past.

My mom took great care in wrapping gifts, using colorful paper and shiny ribbons, creating a spectacle that would make anyone's heart skip a beat. My dad with a heart full of love, would string lights outside the house, turning it into a beacon of holiday cheer.

Despite the sadness that lingered in my heart, I embraced the spirit of Christmas that my parents had instilled in me. Each year, I continued their traditions, spreading love and kindness to others, just as My parents had done. Their love, kindness, and the magic of Christmas endured, touching the lives of those who listened to my tales. And so, even in the absence of my parents, I found comfort in keeping their spirit alive and celebrating the magic of Christmas with a heart full of love.

In remembering their love, I wrote a love letter to them, hoping that they could hear me.

Dear Mom and Dad,

As the festive season blankets the world in joy and cheerfulness, my thoughts drift to you, my cherished parents, who now reside among the stars. The twinkle of Christmas lights mirrors the twinkle in your eyes, and the warmth of holiday embraces brings back memories of your loving hugs.

In this season of love and togetherness, I find solace in the beautiful memories we share. The echoes of your laughter, your voice sounds so clear to my ears, calling us together on the table. The cheerfulness of your smile, it seems just yesterday's picture brightly in mind.

The love that surrounded our family during Christmas continues to fill my heart with comfort and nostalgia.

Though you may no longer be physically present, your spirit lives on in the traditions I hold dearly. The ornaments you carefully placed on the tree, the recipes you passed down through generations, and the joy you found in giving; are the gifts you left behind, immortalized in my heart.

As I celebrate Christmas, I know you are watching over me, your love serving as a guiding light. The stars in the sky are not just celestial bodies; they are reminders of your enduring presence, shining down on me with a love that transcends time and space.

I miss you dearly, especially during this season of togetherness. Yet, I find peace in knowing that the love we shared remains unbroken, bridging the gap between this world and the next.

May your heavenly Christmas be filled with the same warmth and love you bestowed upon us here on Earth.

Merry Christmas, Mom and Dad. Your memory is a gift that I will always cherish.

With love,

Your Beloved Daughter A
