Taking Charge of Links

After putting in a load of work towards creating them, why not take charge of the links?

Being In Charge

The actual, organic meaning of taking charge is being responsible and in control. It can be applied that to creating links for a website entrusted to a person.

It is helpful to stay present and actually, own the links. It also helps to be a self starter with one's own ideas. Showing up and being accountable for work assigned is the first sign of self leadership and self starting.

Nobody else but a person themselves can be present for themselves. One can only show or demonstrate an extra level of ownership for the links they create.

After all, the website should turn out great. One's own work should speak for itself, should it not? For that to happen , taking charge of the said links is necessary.

How does one actually believe all this? Can it be really done? And what is to be done to take charge? All of these are valid questions one should be asking.

Probably, it feels too good to be true. But it is to be known that there are plenty of people working on those links and there is no difference in their talent. They are equally talented. But what sets them apart is their drive to take charge and own those links that they are responsible for.

An Example: My Story

I will tell you a story of my own experience with taking charge. I was creating a website for someone and I was not satisfied with the kind of links the template had. I wanted them to be a little different.

I thought of the idea of symbolic links. Now, that is great, I thought. At least as far as my client is concerned. So, I got down to it.

What options did I have? I could use HTML to create the link. Put in the path to the page I want and then style the link. Or, as I decided, I could be creative and skip the whole styling part.

I just needed the page address. I then clicked a picture that was high resolution on my phone and then cut out a part of it to make a symbol. That way, I had all the style elements in place.

That was my way of taking charge.

Perhaps this "taking charge" malarkey feels scam-like to be honest. But if I could take charge of the links on my website, so can anyone.

So, How Do I Do It?

They say, "You do you". Taking charge of the way one wants to create these links is okay. It has got to be their own way. One has to own every step of the way into making these links.

This is no scam, remember. It is completely legitimate to want something more to fulfil oneself at work. And people do this all the time. They are enough. One has to just believe it!

The way to do this is to be a self starter, as we saw. It is something one has to be. All leadership stems from the inner self. Once control over that is established, one can take on any challenge work throws at them.

Another thing to be known is that every person has complete agency over their actions. One has to channel their thoughts into doing it, and it can be done. One can actually can accomplish what they think is possible. That is how self starting is done: by first thinking of what one has set out as "possible".

This is no airy fairy theory. Plenty of people who make websites have come out stronger after taking charge. I am one of them.

Another reason to take charge

How many organizations around the globe are invested in making these websites for clients? A whopping 92 per cent. Is that not impressive?

Post Covid-19, new norms were set into place. The world acted and interacted digitally. There was great demand for all kinds of websites, especially ecommerce ones. To respond to that demand, startups catering to the website making market began to spring into existence.

Everyday, a new startup that makes websites, is born. Just pausing to reflect on the kind of opportunity that exists in today's world is amazing. We are living in new times, times our forefathers have never seen.

So, one has to stir up and be a part of this amazing reality by taking charge. As a person who works on these websites, one should think of the opportunity that flows in abundance. It is very exciting, all of it.

That is enough to set the responsibility juices flowing through one's veins. After all, it would be foolish to throw away such opportunity, would it not be? One has to wake up to it and go and own their work.

Final thoughts

Taking charge of website links is a process. One has to build upon the creativity in themselves. It is not a one time activity. It is important to be all charged up to start the process.

Every spark of potential within a person should be trusted. And then, one should go ahead and take charge!

P.S.:If you like this story, give it a ♡ or a tip. It would mean the world to me, and I would be eternally grateful to you.
