So if you work a full time job, you will need to lower the course load which can delay the process of completing the degree. However, if you are currently attending school full time, then you will be able to complete the program within the usual four years.

One of the most important factors to consider when pursuing a degree in computer science is your specific career goals. If you plan on becoming a software developer, a software engineer or a data scientist then you will benefit by completing a computer science degree. However, if you are looking to go into something such as database administration, systems analysis or web development, then you will be better off pursuing other computer degrees such as computer information systems or web development.

Completing a degree in computer science will enable you to get the most common educational credential for all of the highest paying computer related jobs available. However, you will often need more than a degree in computer science in order to reach your career goals. Since the technology field is always changing, you will need to keep up to date on the latest software and programming languages.
