The most common and simplest international measure of obesity and health is actually not applicable to everyone?

The most common and simplest international measure of obesity and health

Sometimes when I look through my circle of friends, I find that one type of content is becoming more and more common. That is fitness. Most girls do yoga and running, most guys do rollerblades and spinning bikes. Some of them even post their results after training. To be honest, I admire these people. They stuck to their fitness and achieved results. What I admire most are some of the students who were overweight at school and they made a complete difference.

I used to do exercise and work out a lot, but for various reasons, I didn't stick to it. So I went to exchange some ideas about fitness with a good friend who is working out. During the chat, he mentioned an index called the Body Mass Index. He said that his primary goal was to get his Body Mass Index up to par, and then his body, or the other benefits that come with fitness.

Later, I went to find out what exactly the Body Mass Index is and why it is valued. The Body Mass Index is known as the Body Mass Index, which translates to body mass index. The Body Mass Index was developed and designed by Belgian astronomer, mathematician, statistician and sociologist Lambert Adolphe Jacques Kettler. The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a commonly used international measure of obesity and health status. No wonder my friend is so concerned about the Body Mass Index. It turns out that this value is related to his health.

So how do you calculate body mass index? Can ordinary people calculate it themselves? The answer is yes. To calculate Body Mass Index you only need two figures, weight and height, so as long as you have a scale and tape measure you can calculate Body Mass Index yourself. The formula is Body Mass Index = weight (kg) divided by the square of height (m).

So what is the standard for BMI? What is considered normal or healthy? Since it is a standard, it must also give the range of the indicator and its corresponding degree of health. Moreover, this standard is concerned with the health of fat and thin people, so the data obtained is generally only for fat and thin, and does not include factors that can affect health.

According to domestic standards (the chart is an international standard, which will be stricter), a body mass index of less than 18.5 is considered thin. Being too thin is not a good thing, as you are prone to diseases such as anemia hypoglycemia, and low blood pressure. A BMI greater than or equal to 18.5 and less than 24 is the normal range. People with a body mass index in this range have little to fear from illnesses caused by being fat or thin and have the most proportionate body shape. When the BMI exceeds 24, it is classified as overweight. A body mass index greater than or equal to 24 and less than 28 is considered pre-obese, and there are three degrees of obesity above 28. The fatter you are the more likely you are to develop obesity. So try to stay within the range of 18.5 to 24.

However, it is important to note that while the Body Mass Index can be applied to most people, it does not apply to anyone exactly. Body Mass Index is a comparison of height and weight, but for some people with heavier bones and more muscle, the converted body mass index is greater. They are not obese, but they fall into the body mass index obesity range. There are also pregnant women, lactating women, and the elderly for whom this does not apply.

So we can estimate a person's fatness and health by using a simple body mass index, but at the same time, we need to combine it with other indicators to determine the true state of health. So whether it's fitness or medical attention. Please look for a proper brand, after all, it's about your health and you can't jump to conclusions for cheap!

Personally, I think it's a summary of the main points:

1. body mass index is known as the body mass index, translated into Chinese as the body mass index. The Body Mass Index was developed and designed by Belgian astronomer, mathematician, statistician, and sociologist Lambert Adolphe Jacques Kettler. The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a commonly used international measure of obesity and health status.

2. The formula for calculating Body Mass Index is: Body Mass Index = weight (kg) divided by the square of height (m).

3. According to domestic standards, a body mass index of less than 18.5 is considered thin. A BMI greater than or equal to 18.5 and less than 24 is within the normal range. When the BMI exceeds 24, it is classified as overweight. A body mass index greater than or equal to 24 and less than 28 is considered pre-obese, and there are three degrees of obesity above 28. It is important to try to stay within the range of 18.5 to 24.

4. The Body Mass Index does not apply to everyone exactly. For some people with heavier bones and more muscle, the converted body mass index is greater. They are not obese, but they fall into the body mass index obesity range. There are also pregnant women, lactating women and the elderly for whom this does not apply.

We can use the simple Body Mass Index to estimate a person's fatness and health, but we also need to combine it with other indicators to determine the true physical condition.
