This first encounter with a Korean drama created a lifetime fan. A dynamic period piece set during the late Joseon Dynasty with an amazing screenplay, costumes, cinematography, and casting. This film weaves the tale of a beautiful, complicated love affecting the lives of several well-defined characters. A masterful, absorbing film.

An epic tale of time travel. While it’s true a certain red-haired, kilt wearing man with a thick Scottish brogue piqued my interest, the drama is a fine one that covers various spans in time, and its cinematography is awe-inspiring. Well worth any Sassenach's leap through the stones to watch.

Unrequited love is one of the most enduring and compelling concepts in films. It's a theme that has been dealt with in numerous films, with each presenting its own distinct perspective on the sorrow, desire, and beauty of unfulfilled love. One of the most fascinating characteristics of unrequited love is its capacity to elicit a strong sensation of "What if?" What if things had gone differently? What if feelings were expressed? What if the timing had been correct? All of these questions were gracefully portrayed in Past Lives (2023)---an Oscar nominated film directed by Celine Song.
