Aftersun (dir. Charlotte Wells)
my favourite of 2022
Memories, misunderstood as crystallised time capsules trellising our pasts are anything but.
Real and imagined crudely stitched. Some tactile; others soft as ghosts, likely to morph upon discovery. Both evocative, neither enough to paint someone’s lingering silhouette whole.
Aftersun tries and finds agonising beauty in the futile act of trying.

Mic drop, Mesh! I hope your entry wins the challenge!
Your review has piqued my interest! I gotta watch this!
The trailer is inviting. Your critique, compelling.
Ending of this film stuck with me like an elephant on my chest for around 2 weeks. The power generated in this movie was insane to me. A directorial debut nonetheless. Beautiful film. And a beautiful critique.
Okay, wow. Wow to the trailer and wow to your review! I need to see this movie ASAP.
