The Noseless Pedophile

Box admitted he had looked at child porn since age 15

By True Crime WriterPublished 3 days ago 3 min read

Joshua Glen Box is a convicted s*x offender from North Carolina who relocated to Arkansas after his prison release.

Police charged Box with child pornography in April 2015 after discovering more than 2,500 child p*rn images and 450 videos on his computer.

Box Talks to Police

After his arrest, Box told officers he had been downloading child porn since age 15. He elaborated at his trial, telling jurors that he was a recluse and suicidal because of his facial disfigurement and spent all of his time browsing and downloading pornography.

He served two years in prison and was released in 2018 at which time he was categorized as a Level 2 Offender, meaning there is a high probability that he would re-offend.

Box did not waste any time re-offending. Released in May 2018, Box moved from Fayetteville, North Carolina, to Springdale, Arkansas, and reoffended in June 2018. Police took him back into custody on four counts of receiving material involving s*xual exploitation of a minor and one count of possessing material involving the s*xual exploitation of a minor under age 12.

Box Sentenced to Prison

In 2019, U.S. District Judge Timothy L. Brooks sentenced Box to 15 years on three counts, to run concurrently, followed by 30 years of supervised probation. He dismissed three additional counts against him.

While on supervised probation, Box must attend sexual offender treatment. He will be forbidden from using a computer without explicit permission from his probation officer.

Lucas Box Explains Brothers' Facial Disfigurement

Questions concerning Box’s facial disfigurement swarmed the Internet once his story made headlines. Box did not explain his facial disfigurement, leaving many to speculate that it was the result of a botched suicide attempt.

After Box’s arrest, his brother, Lucas Box, posted on Reddit to ‘set the record straight’ regarding his brother’s facial disfigurement.

“Me and my brother were hanging out at the bar. He told me he had something to show me on his computer. We took a cab to his place, and he went onto his computer.

We were shocked to discover the disturbing photos and images. He insisted the (sic) he did not put them there. I told him I could help him, but he declared that his life was over, pulled out a gun, and shot himself in the face.

Quickly I called 911 and got an ambulance. Unfortunately, the police saw the contents of my brother's computer and arrested him. The next day he woke up and screamed when he saw his face and found out what he was being charged with. I stepped into the room, but he demanded me to leave.

We have not spoken since the incident. I understand why he is feeling bitter. I just wanted all of you to know the truth. Thank you for reading.”

I doubt the legitimacy of the Reddit post since the details do not match up with the statements Joshua provided to the police. The story could very well be legitimate, however, as I was not there and do not know. Joshua did not seem interested in explaining, so we can accept Lucas' answer or continue wondering.

Box is not listed in Arkansas or North Carolina prison system inmate searches as of 6-25-24. I am unable to find updated information online.
