Boy's Tears

My story

By HK DecorPublished about a month ago 3 min read

If a boy hugs me, I have the whole world in his heart, but if that boy has the courage to cry in front of me, perhaps he sees me as the whole world...

Sad girl, let the water flow with you. A sad boy closes his eyelids to let the sadness flow back. Who said boys can not cry? It's just that not every eye can see a boy's tears!

A girl's tears are sometimes like summer showers, coming and going quickly, noisily and hastily. As for my son's tears, when they hurt, they were as persistent as the dull wind and rain in winter, long and bitterly cold.

Tears held back, often salty, and more acrid. It is no longer the pain flowing down two streams of water, but the patience, the endurance, the bitterness that suddenly bursts out...

Boys are more resilient, so when they cry, their tears will be saltier. Boys are stronger and better, so when they cry, their tears will be harsher... Boys usually cry less, so let the tears fall, surely, boys are very tired...

Don't laugh at your tears, son, because that's not weakness. Don't tease a boy to tears, because that's not sentimental, nor is it soft-hearted. That's just when people are too tired and don't have the strength to pick up the mask they've worn for too long. That is also when the smallness and loneliness of humans awakens. As humans, there are times when we are lonely...

When your son cries, don't try to find out the reason. Because what they want is for everything to pass quietly, not trying to dig up the cause, and they will avoid it.

When boys cry, don't try to make them happy, just be quiet and listen to them cry. They will be okay, because when tears wet their eyes, half of the sadness will disappear...

When boys cry, don't lend them your shoulder, but lend them your eyes. They, like us, refuse pity and only accept sympathy... Just a ray of understanding is more than a thousand words of comfort.

When a boy cries, there is no need to reach out to wipe away his tears. Be quiet, and wipe those eyes with your heart...

When boys cry, hug them if possible, gently. Let them know there is still a look here that understands what they don't say, let them know there is a hand here that knows how to ease the pain. Then let them go, let your son be naked with his emotions.

A son's tears only fall once for one pain. So, let no one stop them from crying. A boy's tears only fall in front of people they consider familiar. So, if a man hugs you, you have the whole world in your heart, but if that man (bravely) cries in front of you, maybe he sees you as the whole world...

Don't laugh at a man's tears, because that's more real than the forced smile on your lips in exchange for trust for the whole world.

The scary thing here is that we take it for granted that "boys don't cry" as a matter of course. I don't know when, "boys don't cry" entered us as an inevitable concept, like an existing law, we consider it true without needing to prove it. What's scarier is that the people I know who stand up and speak loudly about gender equality come home and say, "Hey, boys are crying" to the neighbor's child. I'm even more afraid that there are many other people, not limited to just a few friends that I know. That's not to say I'm not talking about those who associate crying boys with being gay. Strange.
