"Ethan Carter," he said, his voice dripping with disdain. "You've been a thorn in our side for far too long."
Ethan stood protectively in front of Sarah, his eyes blazing with defiance. "If you want to get to her, you'll have to go through me."
The man chuckled. "Brave words, but futile. Hand over the information you stole, and we might let you live."
Sarah's mind raced. She knew Ethan wouldn't give in, and she couldn't bear the thought of losing him. She glanced at the window, calculating their chances of escape. But before she could act, Ethan spoke.
"Sarah, run!" he shouted, lunging at the man with the gun.
