In the quaint village of Eldoria, nestled between towering mountains and dense forests, there was a legend whispered among the elders—a tale of an ancient curse that befell the village centuries ago. It was said that the Shadows of the Forgotten roamed the village at night, seeking redemption and peace.

The story began long ago when Eldoria was a bustling town known for its vibrant markets and skilled craftsmen. Among the villagers was a young couple, Elara and Thane, who were deeply in love. Thane was a talented blacksmith, and Elara was known for her healing herbs and potions. They were well-respected and cherished by all.

One fateful day, a stranger arrived in Eldoria, draped in a dark cloak that concealed his face. He spoke of great wealth and power but demanded a price—the sacrifice of the most beloved person in the village. Fear and greed took hold of the villagers' hearts, and a sinister plan was set into motion. The stranger pointed to Elara, who was indeed the heart and soul of Eldoria.

Thane, realizing the danger, pleaded with the villagers to reconsider. He vowed to protect Elara with his life. But the stranger's promises of prosperity had already poisoned their minds. One night, while Elara was gathering herbs in the forest, a group of villagers ambushed her. Thane, sensing the impending danger, rushed to her aid but was too late. The villagers, driven by their greed and fear, had taken Elara's life.

As Elara's lifeless body lay in Thane's arms, the stranger revealed his true form—a dark sorcerer named Malakar. With a cruel laugh, he cursed the villagers, condemning their souls to wander as shadows for eternity, forgotten by time. The villagers' greed had brought upon them a fate worse than death. Thane, heartbroken and consumed by guilt, vowed to find a way to break the curse.
