About this challenge
March is Women’s History Month so we’re celebrating all the incredible women in our lives. Tell us about a woman who inspires you, who motivates you, someone who you look up to or have learned something valuable from. Whether it’s your mom, sister, school teacher, an entrepreneur you admire, or an activist you support, we want you to share the impact they’ve had in your life and how they continue to inspire you.
How to enter
Get creative and tell us about the influential woman in your life—here’s how to create a story.
When submitting your story for review, select “Submit to a Challenge” and select “Women Who Inspire.”
When your story has been approved, it will appear under Submissions on this page.
BONUS: share it on your social and tag us (@vocal_creators) so we don’t miss it! Encourage your friends and fans to read it and give it a like on Vocal—it could give your story a leg up in judging.
About this Challenge
There are countless women in your life who’ve made you who you are. Whether it’s a family member, close friend, celebrity, founder, or historical figure you look up to, choose a woman who shaped you—inspired you to create, inspired you in a career path, or just inspired you to be a better person.
In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re asking you to tell us about the pivotal female figure in your life and how they’ve influenced you today. Create a story that celebrates her; tell us a bit about her background, your relationship, what you admire most about her, and how you’re a different person today because of her.
Vocal+ members can enter the Women Who Inspire Challenge for a chance to win prizes of $1,000, $2,500, or $5,000.

Travel Snaps Challenge Winners
Travel changes us — if we let its lessons in. It’s possible to wander the world, even to take pictures, with our eyes as good as closed, never opening to the new self that a new place might make of us. So many of the entries to our Travel Snaps challenge were by creators who really wanted to look at the world, and themselves, anew. They were all inspiring to read — and to see, because photography was an important part of this competition. To us, the ‘quality’ of the photographs wasn’t the point; it was that these images were yours. It was a reminder of how much more that can mean — certainly when it comes to personal essays — than widely available or AI images. We really loved seeing these snaps.

Poemosaurus Rex Challenge Winners
Hard to conceive, now, how extraordinary it would have been to find the bones of those terrible lizards in the earth — in a time before humans had conceived of anything other than a Great Chain of Being, a static creation. Yet long after Darwin they still have a hold over us, these creatures which are the ancestors of sparrows and seagulls. All hail the dinosaur! They are at once real and mythic, objects of science and objects of wonder, exhibitions in museums and children’s toys. No wonder Vocal Creators responded with such a variety of work to our Poemosaurus prompt.

Just a Minute Challenge Winners
Thanks again to Vocal Creator, Breezy, for suggesting the Just a Minute Challenge — one which you all interpreted in a wonderful variety of ways. Sometimes a minute can feel like an eternity, sometimes it can pass in the blink of an eye… to describe the passing of sixty seconds is no simple matter.
