GALEOTTO WAS HELL

Patrizia Poli

Literary Romance, 2024

The world is falling apart, between the pandemic and the third world war. Confused and blameless, Samael, or Lucifer, morning star, comes to earth to understand the motivations of humans and the inscrutable will of his father, God.

He meets a young mother who has just lost her baby to Covid. She is good, respectable and angelic, she was unable to study due to the death of her parents and up till now she has lived a simple and honest life. She is divorced from a childish and stupid husband. Samael is struck by her, he decides to observe her, to understand her innocent mystery. He also decides to open a cutting-edge funeral home, Oltretomba Starlight.

Samael is the Lucifer of the Gnostics, the bearer of knowledge and truth, fighting with an indifferent God who doesn’t care for the tragedies of humanity. Day after day, he is captured by Angela’s goodness and kindness, he would like to soothe her suffering, and his diabolical nature pushes him to punish all those who have harmed her on earth, making them face their responsibilities. Furthermore, to make himself worthy of her, he tends to redeem those who have sinned in a minor way, and enjoys feeling good in doing so. This, however, does not please God, for whom humans must be judged and punished only after their death, without interfering before.

But someone unexpected will make things right.
