Playlist: Mackem magic and a mystical remix
The big upcoming event for me is the Summer Streets festival in Sunderland - two days of top local bands in the best free festival in the region. We've got a couple of highlights from that show on July 6/7, plus a hazily beautiful remix of some gentle electro-folk from East Durham.

The Day When I Saw Green Day
While I got into Green Day relatively late, I did get to GelreDome venue for my first Green Day concert on time. That didn't stop me from still almost not getting to see them at all, but I digress. I did see them and it was awesome. So, with emotions still fresh from that day, I wanted to create a little microcosm of why I love this band, my rocky road towards finally getting to see them live and, of course, what an absolutely epic of an experience a Green Day concert is.

Twenty One Pilots
Live Music. Another new Album. Loyal Fans. Hype. These are all things I think Twenty One Pilots have succeeded at creating. They have created an experience that their fans are drawn to and can't seem to say no to. They have created a loyal fanbase that will follow them wherever they lead. They have unlocked the secret to not needing to write to the algorithm but instead, they get to write for themselves. A true level of creative freedom.

Kathryn Williams and Withered Hand - Weekend A couple of weeks ago I was looking forward to the release of Kathryn Williams and Withered Hand’s collaboration album Willson Williams. And it was worth the wait. To listen to these two sublime voices blending beautifully together, you’d think they’d been making music together for decades rather than recording as a duo for the first time.

Sayang: Embracing Love and Release
The Indonesian language is beautiful, and I’ve always yearned to delve into its literature. Just as a superb sentence captivates you, encouraging you to relish it slowly, it should possess a distinct style, with words arranged uniquely by its author, enticing you to replay it in your mind and recall it later.
