Zoë Evans, is a San Diego born singer songwriter, who has been making music her whole life. Her father taught her to play the piano at the age of 3, and, to no one's surprise, she released her first album at the age of 15.

Fast forward and music fans have come to know ...

Zoë Evans appreciates deep, soulful music with some of her greatest influences being Lauryn Hill, John Legend and Dua Lipa. This is evident, when listening to her music, as it translates into her songs.

Zoë writes from the heart, pouring her life and emotions into her lyrics. Her music is moving and catchy and Zoë herself seems relatable in a very authentic way. For Zoë, music is a true passion.

Zoë Evans’ 2018 single, Again (the song that made me a FAN) has been played well over 100,000 times on Spotify and received radio play in both Europe and the USA. It’s catchy hook caught people’s attention and left many excited to see what she’d do next. By the end of 2019 we got to hear what she had been working on. She released her single Falling Apart.

Fast forward yet again ...

On October 12th 2020, Zoë Evans, will release a new EP, Let's Go. From pop/rock vibes to hip-hop/R&B, this EP covers a wide range of genres, while still maintaining a unique vibe throughout. Let's Go includes a feature from artist Y.S. on the track, Who It Is.

While writing the EP, Zoë wanted the perfect vibe for the listener to be able to take a drive and just cruise to it and get lost in the music. Being that we are in such a wild scenario currently with Covid-19, Zoë wanted her listeners to hear something uplifting, inspiring and relatable.

Let me - let you - in on a little secret. I have been honored with a sneak-peek of Let's Go and can attest ..... Zoë's listeners will hear something uplifting, inspiring and relatable.

While you wait, take some time to get to know Zoë Evans.

What 1st drew you to music?

I was born into a very musical family. I started playing piano and singing when I was 3 years old, but I didn't get really serious about pursuing a career in music until I was about 14 years old. That's when I learned how to play guitar and started writing and performing/recording.

Do you have a preferred or chosen genre?

I seem to gravitate towards pop or hip-hop/R&B, but I have written a more EDM-style track as well, so I don't like to tie myself down to any specific genre.

Are you strictly a solo act or do you collaborate with others?

I tend to work solo most of the time, but I have collaborated with artist Y.S., who is also my partner. He is featured on my new ep on the track Who it is. I also like to collaborate with various producers, because it helps me to break out of a stagnant sound or vibe that I may feel stuck with at the moment.

What is your creative process like?

I usually need to write music before the lyrics when I write if I'm writing both music and lyrics. I try not to overanalyze my writing at first when I begin a new song, and I will write very quickly, like I'll write something in a day or less. If I'm feeling inspired, it flows very easily. But knowing when and how that moment will come is always a mystery. Some days I feel like I'm on a roll with my writing, and some other days I wonder if I'll ever write again- it's dramatic, lol.

Tell us about your sound and what sets you apart.

I don't try to replicate anyone else's sound. I feel like my sound is inspired by a culmination of the music style I grew up on, like the hip-hop or soul influences, but I've been told I have a unique sound, which I think is crucial for setting you apart as an artist.

Tell us a little bit about your new EP to be released in October?

When writing the ep, I wanted the perfect vibe for the listener to take a drive and just cruise to, and get lost in the music. Being that we are in such a wild and tough scenario currently with Covid-19, I wanted my listeners to hear something uplifting, inspiring and relatable.

Will there be a featured song from EP?

Where You Are

What is the best song you ever released and why?

My EDM-style track Again is definitely the best song I've released, in terms of streams and downloads, along with the quality of the release. It was featured on the major station WHUD in Hudson Valley, NY, along with being featured on various other radio stations in the U.S.

What is your favorite song(s) to perform?

I am really excited to perform my new ep, because I get bored easily, and love having some new material. But I always love to perform 'Again', since it's an upbeat and fun track.

What song do fans seem to favor?

Again. It holds the highest streams for me currently on Spotify, at over 103k streams.

Is there a hidden meaning in your music?

I think my lyrics can be interpreted in multiple ways when I write from a personal perspective or tell a story. I like my lyrics to relate to a time in the listeners life, or express an emotion that the listener can relate to. I don't intentionally place easter eggs in my songs, but as I listen back, I hear them without me even trying to put them there, it depends on how deep one digs into the lyrics I think.

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

Yes. When I was 14, I performed my first show at Warehouse21 in Santa Fe, NM. I was super nervous, and I performed Jewel's song, 'Who will save your souls.' I remember being super proud of myself after the performance, and wanting to do it again!

Other than fame & fortune, is there something you hope to achieve through music?

I hope to inspire my listeners through my lyrics and hope to connect with them when they're going through something tough. Music is one of the things I turn to when I'm having a hard time in my life, so I hope to be there for my fans who find music to be healing and therapeutic.

Tell about a magical moment or positive experience that has happened during your music career.

I was nominated for a New Mexico Music award for a song I wrote with producer Larry Mitchell entitled Build Up. It was such a defining moment for my music at the time, because it confirmed that I was doing this professionally, and not just as a hobby. It inspired me to keep pushing and pursuing my dreams, which I continue to do today.

What music do you listen to for fun?

I'm really into Khalid, Billie Eillish and Alicia Keys right now. I love finding new music, as I can get stuck listening to things I've been rocking to since I was a teenager, so I like to switch my playlist up and keep it fresh.

Who inspires you musically?

Growing up, I was really inspired by female artists such as Gwen Stefani, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, India Arie, Alicia Keys. They have definitely had an influence on my music and sound, I think.

If one artist were to perform at your party, who would get the call?

Nas.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted sharing your music?

The internet has had a major impact on the way that I am able to share my music. I remember the days when I used to have to book a gig and perform in-person in order to get my music out there. Now, I can push and promote my music from anywhere in the world, to anywhere in the world. This is huge for the music industry and for connecting artists and fans all over.

What is your favorite/best outlet to connect with your followers Instagram, Spotify, FB, Twitter, iTunes? How would you want them to follow?

I tend to use Instagram and Facebook most for contact and promotional purposes. But I make sure to post on all of my socials for fan reach and to make sure I'm covering all social bases.

What does the future hold for you?

I hope to continue to grow my fanbase and record more music, and continue to push myself musically.

Did I forget to ask something? Something you would like to say, that I did not address.
