Today, we bring to you a new artist spotlight!

Go visit the "hoodie assassin : hoodie speak : hoodie savage" playlist on SoundCloud for a complete tracklist of all the songs dropped in the last week by hoodiespeak - you'll be able to listen to a couple of those tracks we talk about in today's new artist spotlight.

Most of the tracks we'll mention today tho will be promoting a new album being produced and released later this year. These game-changing beats are made by Temper Beats Collective and these radical lyrics/passionate flow are that of hoodiespeak. This project is being released in 3 parts beginning with the first drop on AUGUST 8TH. Each EP will host 6 original and authentic hoodiespeak written and recorded songs. Each song is a different style and serves a diverse and unique purpose in the witness of this album to not only the music industry itself, but also to music listeners here and abroad. This album challenges the very fabric of rap music/hip-hop and the culture surrounding it. In a roundabout way, what hoodiespeak does is invite the church to change rap music with not only authority in message, but also the audacity to gently yet firmly speak it.

In featuring this new artist spotlight today, we call to attention the 6 tracks hosted on the 1st part EP :

  1. Year To Replenish
  2. Quintessential
  3. Love Becoming
  4. Gladness
  5. Broken Dreams
  6. Story

With number one on the album being "Year To Replenish" this is also hoodiespeak's title of the album. Inspired by life events and overcoming adversity all throughout life, this has been declared a year to replenish. This being hoodie's first music project ever, this is a strong album name to come out the gates and a strong message indeed to his music career in whatever lies ahead. Number two begins to highlight an aspect of love in the life of hoodie with a song that tells of how his wife is a quintessential piece to the puzzle he had been collecting pieces for and putting together.

Number three follows a similar sentiment about how love is always in this "becoming" process, and that even lovers with chemistry and cohesion have to put in the work to make things gel and cooperate, especially when difficult times hit and it's not so easy to gel and cooperate. In orded to operate and succeed, you have to cooperate and sustain. That's the recipe to love becoming, not just love stagnant. Number four tells of gladness, what it is and what it is not. At least according to the artist, hoodie describes gladness from an introverted-extroverted standpoint and shows the listener that glitter ain't always gold; you gotta look deeper.

Number five continues to encourage the listener not to settle. Broken dreams can only happen if we stop submitting the clay back to the potter. It's only when we triumph that we see how many times we were truly broken in purpose and with intentionality for what we were slowly turning into and permanently becoming. In this song, hoodie reiterates that "we ain't gotta have broken dreams." Number six tops all this off to say the story may be filled with mistakes, but we ain't hittin' the brakes. This sentiment is that "you don't know my story" unless you here to push me further in it and closer towards what I know I see in myself. To say to a skeptic or your own self-doubt, my story was AND IS written to make an impact. It takes a team and some time to get there, but anything dragging that down or holding that back has to adjust and get in line.

Some other tracks featured on SoundCloud by hoodiespeak are :
