Baby Lu releases her 1st single "Bad Stuff"

Luna Elisabeth Jezebel Pool, aka Baby Lu, from Frankfurt, Germany. Lu began singing and songwriting in her early teens and went to several music auditions where she was rejected because of her young age. She then decided to start making her own music after graduation in 2018. In 2019 she met producer Austin Asiegbu (2aBeaatz) and started to produce her own songs. Pool has cited Adele and Demi Lovato as her major musical influences. Her other influences or inspirations include Harry Styles, Lil Peep, XXXTentation, Trippie Redd, Juice Wrld, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Kurt Cobain, Ed Sheeran, Rihanna and Halsey. About Adele she says:”We had a similar voice range since I was young so I always loved to practice to her songs.” She also has said that Peeps songwriting had a huge influence on her music, because she finally learned how to describe her own feelings. Her musical styles is described as R&B, Pop and Indie.

What 1st drew you to music?

I started making music and songwriting at a young age and went to several auditions where I received rejections because of my young age. A few months ago I met my producer and friend 2A Beatz and we started producing songs.

Do you have a preferred or chosen genre?

Yes I love R&B that’s why I’m doing it the most. But I would say my genre is a mixture of R&B, Hip Hop, Indie and Pop cause that’s the genres I listen to the most too.

Do you write your own music, or do you collaborate?

I do write my own music and haven’t done any collaborations yet but I’m looking forward to change that.

What is your creative process like?

The vibes come and go. I fall into a creative process at the weirdest places and then I just let my emotions and feelings flow Into my lyrics and mostly write a whole song at once.

What is the best song you ever released and why?

Bad Stuff is my first song so I got not many to compare to but I can say that a lot more is about to come and bad stuff was only the beginning. I got one unreleased that I really love the most.

What is your favorite song(s) to perform?

My favourite song to perform is Clean Sprite which is not released yet so stay tuned.

Is there a hidden meaning in your music?

I wanna reach out to people dealing with the same shit like I do or did so if you take a good listen to the lyrics i hope that some can feel and identifies themselves with it.

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

No. I‘m a very fearless person when it comes to bringing my music to the world. I never dealt with performance anxiety at all yet. I love performing.

What do you enjoy most about being a musician? What do you hate most?

I love almost everything about it. I love how I can express my feelings and how people give back and show the love for my music. The only thing what sucks is when it comes to a writers block cause then I just start to feel doubtful in what I’m doing as you can’t force a creative process.

Other than fame & fortune, is there something you hope to achieve through music?

Definitely! For me it was never about the fame or such things I always wanted to reach people that are going through the same like me and feeling the same . I don’t care if that’s 5 people or a million. I want to help some and make their lives easier with my songs.

Tell about a magical moment or positive experience that has happened during your music career.

My first performance was lit. It was at a private party with about only 30 people but it was a cool experience cause the people didn’t know me and were vibin to my music.

What music do you listen to ‘for fun’?

I listen to all kinda music I really enjoy listening to reggae and Latin music when it comes to partying.

Who inspires you musically?

Juice WRLD, Lil Peep, XXXTENTACION and Halsey

If one artist were to perform at your party, who would get the call?

If I had the contact it would be Trippie Redd definitely haha

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Keep doing what you love. Don’t listen to what anybody got to say about what you’re doing or how you doing it. You’re great. Don’t stop and let no one tell you different.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted sharing your music?

I got most of my listeners of Instagram because I’m pretty active. I like the fact that it’s easier to share your music to the world nowadays but also it’s harder to promote it properly because there are too many talented people out here.

What is your favorite/best outlet to connect with your followers Instagram, Spotify, FB, Twitter, iTunes? How would you want them to follow?

Instagram 100%. As I said I’m the most active on Instagram and I think that’s the greatest way to connect with my followers.

What does the future hold for you?

I’m working on an EP right now and hope that it’s gonna reach the right people. Also I’m looking forward to doing some Collabs in the future.
